ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project aimed to optimize the Media Asset Management (MAM) system of a fast-growing media channel, which was experiencing increasing storage costs and inefficiencies in file retrieval. The main goal was to streamline archiving processes, improve file organization, and reduce manual workloads through automation. The project focused on integrating the existing MAM system, Mimir, with qibb to achieve more efficient workflows and reduce operational costs.
The challenge
By integrating Mimir with qibb, the customer established a robust system for categorizing their media assets, streamlining archiving processes, and eliminating manual tasks. Accurate "Asset Type" information was crucial for guiding qibb’s automated workflows. Ensuring this data was correctly entered allowed qibb to manage and archive media assets effectively according to the established rules.
The customer configured the qibb Flow to automatically archive assets based on specific "Asset Type" metadata after a designated period. Assets that did not meet the archiving criteria were scheduled for deletion, optimizing storage usage. To ensure consistent data entry, they implemented mandatory completion of "Asset Type" fields, enabling qibb to apply its rules accurately. By automating the archival process, qibb removed the need for tedious manual reviews.
